During myofascial release therapy, a specially trained therapist uses their hands to apply gentle pressure to specific points of the body to elongate your fascia to support the relaxation of muscles, release tension and restore mobility in the affected areas.


Myofascial release is often used to treat a variety of conditions, including back pain, neck pain, headaches, and sports injuries. It can also be helpful for individuals who suffer from chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia. It can also be used to improve performance and reduce the risk of injury for athletic across all areas of sports and sport training.


There are different types of myofascial release techniques, including direct myofascial release, where the therapist applies pressure directly to the affected area, and indirect myofascial release, where the therapist applies pressure to a distant part of the body to release tension in the affected area.


Myofascial release can be performed by a trained therapist in a clinical setting, or in an athletic environment. However, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new type of therapy or exercise program.
